My partner Phil loves Joe Strummer and when I read that 'The Clash' had inspired a lot of your work, I decided to commission you to paint a picture of Joe for Phils birthday.
A couple of months later and just in time for Phils birthday you delivered the painting of Joe. I was thrilled and I thought it was beautiful. I should have kept it a surprise but couldn't wait and phoned Phil immediately!!!
We have moved recently and have been waiting for planning permission so
haven't done any decorating. The plan was to redo the loo with NME covers
and we thought Joe would look great in there. Unfortunately we've had Joe
for 3 months and the loo is still not done...and neither is anywhere else in
the house! Joe has been sitting pride of place on my piano in the living
room waiting for his permanent place.
All of our visitors have commented how lovely it is and asked about the painter.
It's made us realise that the loo is no place for Joe!
